An up and down month, not that I saw much of it. I was only able to watch the Newcastle game in full, what a joy that was. I'm not quite sure what is going on, injuries are still messing with us and while that's not an excuse it does go some way to explain why it's been an up and down sort of month. The return of Scholes was something, I'm reading his book and I got the feeling that he'd miss the daily routine quite a lot. Proved right when he came running back on against Manchester City. I know a few fans see it as a step back but it's January, we don't really know how much money United have to spend given the debts so why not bring a player who has only just retired back? I saw no downside in boosting the squad in such a way. If it happened in the summer, I'd have a different take. This summer transfer market will be int-er-est-ing. Currently though, we're level on points at the top of the league so that's the up.
The down being the tough run in we got with the FA Cup. Our two rivals one after each other. I got to see the best part of the United - City game, the 3-0 part. Wasn't easy checking my phone during lunch seeing that scoreline decrease. Then Liverpool, there are so many reasons I want to erase that match. I only saw the first half and that was enough, I'm not even talking about what was happening on the pitch when I say that but hey, it's just "friendly banter" (groan). It doesn't fill me with glee that we have the league game to look forward to in less than two weeks. Remember when watching football used to be fun?
