Tigger just came bouncing into the study, and the thing I've been dreading for weeks happened. She was carrying another tiny wee mousey in her mouth. I tried to carry her to the bedroom window to make her drop it out of there (I know they can get down to the roof, and then the garden, from there because one did last year). A change of strategy has been required. Saturday night saw the cats being put ostensibly under 'house arrest', in that we locked the cat flap to outgoing traffic. This was fine, and resulted in no meeces overnight, but also resulted in me having to get up at 7.15am on Sunday to let Pud out, who was in a desperate state and could keep her furry legs

An earlier start than expected today, thanks to Tigger bringing in her first mouse of the year. Sam woke up at about 8.30 and heard her playing in the study. The familiar jingle of Tigger's collar as she ran around downstairs - while Pud lazed at my feet upstairs - could only mean one thing. Yes, she'd brought in another mouse.
