We went for a walk in the woods this morning, while it was still snowing (thick, fast, heavy, proper snowflakes). We timed it right, just as we were coming home the snow turned to sleet, then rain, and since we've been back it's been steadily thawing out.

It's snowing!

Big, fat, proper flakes, too.

What an excellent way to start December. Hurrah!

ETA: And not two minutes later, it's stopped. Booooooo! That's probably our quota for this winter, then.

There's only one thing worse than no snow and that's loads of snow that JUST WON'T SETTLE!

We appear to be having our first snowfall of 2008. I know that this was widely predicted by weather spods yesterday, but I honestly thought, having seen the forecasts, that our little corner of Wet Yorkshire was going to be one of the few places in the UK that wouldn't be snowed on.

Anyway, hooray for snow!
