I just got an email from my PA 762 professor--and it's not the professor who was originally listed for the course. The professor who was listed is exciting, dynamic and vibrant--her teaching style challenges me and I suspect her way for teaching a course on Leadership would be eye opening while also entertaining. This new professor is an untried entity. It could go either way with him. But, I'm leaning toward it not being worth my time as he has knocked out two of the books (bios by leaders) on the reading list in favor of a 'solid' textbook. I already own the textbook as I used it in another class. Hi syllabus is full of movie watching and group projects. We're probably watching clips and then having a discussion. FUCK MAN! I wanted a class with the other prof.
I could drop the course, but it would screw up my plan of completing the degree by the end of the calendar year. No way I could take 3 courses next Fall. But, I'd rather not waste my time--even if it means taking classes in the summer or staying another semester. It would suck, but it wouldn't kill me.
I went to my boss, a professor and department chair, for academic advice. She wisely said, I won't know if it's worth my time till I meet the professor and see the class. I suppose she's right.
