Still recovering from Writercon
I had such a great time at Writercon! So great, I'm still recovering (man, I haven't danced that much in a loooonnng time!). Unfortunately, on Monday I managed to wrench my back and my left Achilles tendon hauling my suitcase up our narrow back stairs (H is out of town on a business trip, or he would have carried it for me. I miss him so much!) I haven't done my laundry yet (just thinking about dragging laundry up and down stairs hurts!), but it's gotta get done tonight or I won't have anything clean to wear to work tomorrow.
My new Palm TX arrived yesterday, and last night I charged it up and did the basic setup (OMG, 9 days without my precious PDA! I'm so glad I spent half of that time at Writercon, where I got happily distracted from the Palm withdrawal symptoms). It will take me several days to install my old programs and data. (Someone I met at Writercon whose name I can't remember warned me that some older software is incompatible with the TX and advised me to do clean install; I'm going to follow her advice.)
Also, I have some seriously urgent deadlines at work this week. I brought work home last night, and I will probably need to do so tonight as well.
But none of that dulls the happy memories and renewed fandom energy I brought back from Writercon. I had a blast re-connecting with people I met at WC2004 and meeting lots of new people (I have a list of about 25 people whose journals I need to check out, and several TV shows and movies to add to my Netflix list).
It will probably take me a few more days to catch up on my flist, and soon I hope to regain enough energy to draft a WC2006 report that's worthy of the experience.
On a completely different note, I watched the second episode of Eureka last night. It's not great (it's pushing the humor a bit), but I like it enough to keep watching. What do you all think?
Tonight's must-see TV: So You Think You Can Dance. Travis is my woobie. Can't wait to see him dance again!
