Bandslash: Crossover RPS Recs
I've been looking through the archive, and I have made a lot of recs recently. The same goes for SGA fandom, of course. I'm pretty sure I have the biggest McKay/Sheppard reclist out there. While I think that's pretty awesome, mostly because it means that I've read some great stories, it also makes me a little nervous. Am I not picky enough? Should it be quality over quantity? I genuinely enjoy every story I rec, and want to pass them along for those hungry for fic the way I am, but they're not all, like, profound literature or anything. I set up "personal favorite" and "highly recommended" pages on my web site because of that, and also to give people somewhere to start with my 800+ SGA recs. So that's my longwinded way of saying that I hope you're finding these useful and not just overwhelming.
Here's a nice batch of crossover fics for your reading pleasure. They're various combinations and permutations of the FOB, P!atD and MCR guys, with others thrown in for flavor. What I discovered in compiling this list is that I mostly like seeing Patrick/anyone, and that Patrick/Gerard is my secret inter-band OTP.

The Best (Un)Laid Plans, or The Pete Wentz System of Seduction by marigolde--Patrick/Gerard, Pete/various--Pete decides that Patrick needs to get laid and sets about making Patrick's life hell.
They'd been not-living together for a month and three doormats when Pete started dropping not subtle hints that Patrick needed to get laid.
"Patrick," he said, sprawled out on the floor and playing Mario Kart, "you need to get laid."
the first leg by ninjajab--Patrick/Brendon--Brendon's pretty much obsessed with Patrick in this fic. I love how Patrick is the experienced one, and Brendon's like a kid in a candy shop. 18 (? There is a number system now? These ratings confuse me.)
Patrick is awesome in a way that Brendon has never really come into contact with before. He knows shitloads about music - like totally random, useless bits of information that Brendon is pretty sure his own brain just does not have the room to store away. He has nearly perfect recall of all the good quotes from all the terrible/glorious ‘80’s films (that’s what Patrick calls them, “films, not movies. Cinematic excellence.”) that Brendon used to sneak over to Grady Biendell’s house to watch his sophomore year of high school.
Geometry by ninjajab--Patrick/Keira Knightley--Yes, you read the pairing right. And if you're skipping over this fic because it's het or because it's half non-bandom, you are making a mistake. Keira has a massive crush on Patrick, and is a Fall Out Boy fangirl, and it's adorable! Slash is my drug of choice, but sometimes a good ol' boy-gets-girl (or, in this particular case, girl-chases-boy-until-boy-gets-his-head-out-of-his-ass) story hits the spot. 15-ish
“Oh, hi!” she says, and when Patrick looks up, she’s looking right at him, smiling prettily. She sort of is disconcertingly beautiful.

Sing Ourselves To Sleep by Dira Sudis--Patrick/Gerard, Pete/Mikey--Another Summer of Like story. Gerard's feeling moody when he bumps into Patrick. They both feel like they've lost their best friend. Not explicit
Gerard feels Patrick stiffen a little, and realizes a second late that Mikey's over at the Fall Out Boy bus with Pete. He leans his head against Patrick's, the side of Patrick's hat scratchy against his forehead. "Hiding from the Pete-and-Mikey machine?"
Irrational by schuyler--Frank/Brendon, Frank/Brendon/Jon--Frank hooks up with Brendon only to find out that he's already dating Jon. Wackiness and mild angst ensue. Good stuff. NC-17
Brendon called back in five minutes. “Hey, sorry. Talking to the boyfriend. What’s up?”
Frank stopped and was silent for a minute, his hand stilling around his coffee cup. Boyfriend? “Um, I just wanted to see if you knew where G was. I think I’m supposed to get him at the airport today, but he never told me when.”

Brendon speaks with his hands, gesturing between their chests and fingers flitting around his head like birds and Patrick is having a hard time following. "We're the megaphones for the beautiful boys, the filters through which they send all their secrets to the world. Doesn't that ever, like, worry you?"
falling up by stereomer--Patrick/Frank--Another Summer of Like story. Seriously, if you want to get into this fandom, you should be well-versed on this aspect of canon. Frank embarrasses himself in front of Patrick and then learns about Patrick's crush on him the previous year. The POV switches back and forth, which usually bothers me, but which I think works well here. PG-13
“Holy shit,” he gapes, still uselessly holding on to the almost empty drink. Meanwhile, Bob has fled. Frank makes a mental note to kill him later. “Patrick! Shit! I'm so sorry.” But then at the same time, he's trying not to laugh at the inane jokes that cross his mind - blue balls, ice prick, Smurf dick. Patrick is looking down in dismay. Frank realizes how valuable clean clothes are on the shitshow that is the Warped Tour, and now he really does feel bad.
Polaris by Eleanor Lavish--Patrick/Frank--An awesome Chicago scene AU. Pete and Andy are in Arma Angelus, but Patrick's still best friends with him. Meanwhile, Patrick's in a band with William Beckett, Jon Walker, erm, two guys from All American Rejects, I think, and Frank Iero, their new recruit. Patrick's immediately smitten. R
“Cool,” Patrick collected himself enough to count out the opening. Halfway through the song, Patrick was convinced that not only could Frank play well enough to do in a pinch, he was possibly one of the best players on the scene. He played through the song without a hitch until the last verse when he switched up two progressions and ended the song a third down from Nick, giving the song a startling, haunting final tone.
