For a party that was swept in on promises to do something about a futile and unpopular war, they sure do a lot of snoring.

Rich white elite A replaces rich white elite B.

And so it goes.

At least they're apathetic instead of antagonistic.

Well, yes, they're better than the alternative. They're still somewhat of a disappointment. It's like having the Lone Ranger ride in and succeed in convincing the bad guys to rob and kill a little bit less when you were hoping he'd put them all in jail.

Don't give up! Find ways to make change outside the normal routes! Take innitiative and form a group that tries to work with people afflicted with a social ill in your area. There is sooo much more you can do than sit around and vote for rich power elite (who cares not one shred about you) A or B.

Well let's see...with the Senate at 50D, 49R, and 1I (who votes R on war issues), I don't see how you can blame Democrats for not passing legislation. They don't have the votes necessary to override a veto or to block a fillibuster, and the Republicans vote on the party line on almost everything. If we get a Democrat in the White House in 2008, and they still accomplish nothing, then you start whining. Until then, try nagging your Republican Senators to stop being partisan hacks and start doing what's right for the country. That could also apply to quite a few Democrats, as well.

Yeah, it goes a lot further than that.
The Democrats hold the majority, so the handle the schedule as well as head committees and investigations.
THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING AT ALL. NOTHING. The war goes on and more money is being funneled into the war. Democrats have the power to stop a single penny more from going to the war.

Democrats are pathetic and spineless. I don't want a Democrat President as much as I don't want a Republican president as it's just going to be more of the same.

Yep. Time for something different. . . .

Wrong again. Dems can set the agenda, but they can't make the Republicans and Lieberman vote to approve any of the legislation they present. And with the tie in the Senate and Cheney's power to break ties, there is no Democratic majority and no chance of them passing legislation that accomplishes an end to the war ( ... )

If they wanted to end the way, they wouldn't schedule the vote for war funds.
They very well know that any bill to end the way will go down so it is pointless and just showboating.
If they were serious they know what they need to do to end the war.
They don't have enough guts to do it.

Sadly he would keep them there without a dime to spend on them.
It would be a fruitful first step to getting other bills passed that would quicken the troop withdrawal. The Democrats have the power to demand that a exit plan be in place before any further money is released.
Do you see where I am going with this.

Ouch. I am offended but I am not saying that's a completely bad thing. It is the military side of me who is hurt by this, not the politically fed up side who would love for someone to get off their ass and do something!?!

That the military is a huge failure?

No the military is not a failure. Their leadership is.

Yes and no. Through their leadership they have made the military a failure. Lack of training is mostly to blame.
