Wrong again. Dems can set the agenda, but they can't make the Republicans and Lieberman vote to approve any of the legislation they present. And with the tie in the Senate and Cheney's power to break ties, there is no Democratic majority and no chance of them passing legislation that accomplishes an end to the war.

And aside from all of that, there's a serious risk to the Democrats if they do hold up war funds and block spending bills. Not everyone wants us to just pull out of Iraq as fast as we can ship our soldiers home. There is no reason to believe that the Iraqis will suddenly start working together and miraculously form a functioning, self-sustaining government the day we leave. You're living in la-la land if you think that's the way it will be. We need to have a sound exit strategy and we need to plan on keeping a significant number of troops in and/or near Iraq for a long time to come. Bush and his Republican cronies will never agree to such a sensible compromise because he is intent on leaving this war in the lap of the next President. He said so himself in his last public address. So stop bitching about weak-willed Democrats when you can't defend your own arguments.
