...that's probably not how things are done around here, N

Feb 04, 2011 16:33

[Hello, Awesome Island! This particular section of the CMA is relatively clear, actually, a good amount of the snow having melted and the runoff leaving the ground springy and damp; it's a bit warmer today than it has been lately, and N has apparently decided that it's about time that he greeted the day properly, a brown satchel made of thick ( Read more... )

BAAAAAH WHY SO ADORABLE N. take_a_melody February 4 2011, 22:46:21 UTC
*...Wait, is that... Oh, Lucas will never forget this guy, ever. So, N, there's a blond guy with Reshiram wings observing you from the trees, kicking his feet, smiling to himself. What will you do?*

[He sets the Roselia down once it's Revived (and admittedly horrendously lost because seriously, what has just happened, and it's not too thrilled about hearing an explanation from the guy with the gears right now), watching it as it more or less goes on its way; once he's certain it's clear of what he's been doing, he'll just go back to shuffling around in some high grass like the only thing this place really needs around here is some crop circles, when -

Oh.

...Oh.

You'll have to forgive him for blatantly staring at you, Lucas, because he recognizes those wings. He definitely recognizes those wings...but. But. You're a human and this is kind of confusing and wat.]

*Flap flap flap goes those Reshiram wings. There's a huge grin on Lucas' face because he can tell you're confused.*

Hello, friend N! Wonderful weather this island is having, no?

[Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaring.]

You're - !

[...yeah, it's sinking in and holy mother of...something holy what has happened here and Reshiram has just asked him a question hang on]

Yes, I...it's lovely, but -

[ this is the first N's seen of a double of himself - but it's comforting to see he's no different then he himself. N keeps his distance, but wonders if he should offer help as well... he frequently ran out of healing items when he first began his journey. ]

[N has met one once before, though he hasn't seen him since their meeting quite some time ago; if anything, he's worried, as that other double of himself...well, he was in pain, and it was obvious. It didn't sit right with N then, and it still doesn't now; regardless, they had each had their own thoughts on what should be done, not to mention their own lives. It would be unfair for him to dictate what his double should do, not to mention that it stood to reason that his double would already know what he was going to say. You know, being him and all.

He sits back on his heels once he's sent the Roselia on its way; it's rather confused and not very happy with him, but he tried...he reaches up to brush some of the stray strands of his bangs out of the way, they're getting rather close to poking his eye and - ]

Ah.

[He gets to his feet, adjusting that satchel over his shoulder before approaching; his approach is shameless, without any sort of anxiousness or trepidation, though the smile is subdued somewhat - he's still not entirely ( ... )

[ Zorro...a name he isn't familiar with. or perhaps that was the name of the zoroark that he had met come his arrival here? there is a long moment of thought as he considers every available possibility... before he shakes his head. ]

If you are referring to the zoroark capable of human speech, then I've been told he no longer has his trainer here on the island with him.

[ he hesitates a moment. ] ...my own zoroark is in it's pokeball.

[...!]

I didn't realize - another one, then. I'll have to request information from Zorro if I see him again...

[... Oh! So that's how he does it...]

I've always wondered how you trained.

Ah - Touya, right?

[You're...that boy who is also from Unova; he knows your female counterpart back where he's from, but he's been introduced to a couple of versions of you on the island and he has no argument with you right now, so!]

I only train because it's necessary, and there really isn't any other way to do it - believe me, if there was a way to do so without bringing pain to these Pokémon, I would take that option in a heartbeat. But if it must be done this way, then of course I heal any harm that I cause them. Anything less would be cruel; this isn't their fault, and it's not worth it to make them suffer so I can benefit.

[He doesn't sound angry or condescending, and there's no real sense of tension in his voice; he's simply explaining how he does things, nothing more, nothing less.]

That's right.

Ah... makes sense to me. It must cost a lot, though.

[...Touya. N is disappoint.]

I think that healing any pain I may bring to others, and not just leaving them unconscious and alone, is well worth the cost.

[So disappoint.]

[Once it's healed, N allows that...terribly confused Roselia go on its way, and he waits for a moment to ensure that it's clear of the path he's been taking. It's a very definite path, too - if he keeps this up, the CMA will be adorned with some very lovely crop circles before too long.

And it isn't too long before a wild Nuzleaf approaches; if you happen to let the battle finish uninterrupted, Silver, it'll become very clear that that...wasn't exactly a random occurrence, nor was it a one-time thing because he happened to pity that particular Roselia.]

...What are you doing? [Seriously this is the most convoluted method of training he's ever seen-]

Reply

centrifuged February 4 2011, 23:56:23 UTC
[Well, for the time being he's...leaving that Nuzleaf where it is as it's kind of heavier than he'd thought, but he's Reviving and Restoring it, why do you ask - ]

I have to strengthen my friends in some way, and I refuse to just bring harm to others for our benefit. This is the least cruel way to help everyone - at least, that I can see.

[Ash was just strolling around, until he notices N. Of course, he doesn't realize what he's doing until ... it finally clicks in his head. Oh. Oh. Usually, no trainer would do that. He was one of them -- but then again, Ash hardly battled wild Pokémon, unless he wanted to catch them, or if there was some sort of contest. So he'll just be staring in awe.

He...is kind of nice to do that, really.]

[Yes, well. Perhaps Roselia would agree with you if it weren't so busy being completely confused; after all, he can't exactly apologize beforehand because nothing in its right might would stand there and let itself get clocked by a couple of gears that are out to battle if it had a chat with the gears' owner first, and even if it did N would feel even more horrendously guilty than he already does. So it's kind of a surprise battle followed by healing that's probably even more of a surprise. Not too pleasant all around, really, and Roselia kind of doesn't want to hear it.

N's more than content to let it go on its way, however, and he rocks back on his heels a bit, looking around to see where his friend has gotten to - ah.

He definitely makes eye contact, though he doesn't approach; from what he knows of you, your Pokémon seem to like you, but...hm. Of course, he has no idea that he hasn't met you, specifically, but...

Either way, he doesn't look displeased to see you. Just. Consider it a nonverbal "Hi there." 'Sup, Ash.]

Er... hey! [Pikachu gives a sheepish wave too - though he doesn't exactly know who you are. This is actually a pretty interesting way to train, though.]

Hello.

[The word is a bit...unsure, but it's definitely audible; even if he believes the other individual is at least good to their own friends, if N's not discussing Important Matters, he's still a bit human-shy - friendly interactions, how do they work...]

Are you training as well?
