I have to strengthen my friends in some way, and I refuse to just bring harm to others for our benefit. This is the least cruel way to help everyone - at least, that I can see.

It's "less wrong" to "strengthen your friends" by "bringing harm to others for your benefit" when you could just have them train with each other and make more progress than you'll probably get from the Pokémon around here.

N can feel his temper flaring, burning hot through his system, and this is exactly the sort of circumstance that Father has told him never to try to have a discussion under. In a way, humans are like one's friends in that regard - shouting at them or insulting them will only make them not want to listen at best, and at worst will offend or hurt them and make them not want to be around you again. While N has never really been offput by the possibility of the latter when it comes to humans, he knows that sort of thing would make Father displeased - we have to work with the humans to save our friends, that's just the way things are.
As a result, he just kind of...breathes for a moment. Relaxes a bit. The next few words are things that he has a hard time making sound natural and not rehearsed, but as long as he doesn't sound completely like a robot he'll consider it good enough.]
