Okay, quick update. Spent most of yesterday post-post surfing the net, snagging up any files I could find (and with a healthy bit of help from the ever-awesome Talia) for visual aids in constructing characters and items for Dragonfly, then ate Mexican while watching the original Manchurian Candidate. Good flick, I recommend it... but it CAN be a little confusing.
Spent this morning cleaning up and then moving some boxes to take to the new house, then hopped online to snag more files before we headed out. Think I found something I liked for Haruko's sword guard. And I'm now convinced Chang from King of Fighters was actually based, not on Zangief, but on Conquer from Storm Riders. Just check out the early official art... you'll see it.
Headed down to the new house. Dropped off some boxes and breakables we didn't want movers mucking with. I noticed my room's closet was the smallest in the house. No, really. I think the linen closets have more room. Mentioned this and got reassured I had a stake in several places around the house for lodging my stuff. Think I'm gonna keep most of my books in the den... should free up space.
Worked out all the eps for the Bandit King arc in Overview format in the car going to and coming back, except for the finale in episode 11. But in truth, it's mostly fight scene anyway, and I don't overview the details in those unless it's key. Should be spiffy, though.
Keep meaning to work more on the CCG, but can't seem to get around to it. Ah well. The anime, as AMG put it, does come first. Well, the anime and manga. But that's neither here nor there right now.
The big move is only three days away now. It'll be nice to be in the new house more or less for keeps... but organizing it post-fact is gonna be a bear. With luck, I'll have it all settled by the time I go back to school.
I'd make a new CD for my line of songs I really like, but someone else already had that idea when they made the Spiderman 2 OST. Good stuff... lot of keepers in the lineup of songs on there.
One thing that has been bugging me as of late in relation to Dragonfly has been the little things. I don't want anyone in it to feel stereotypical... I want them to stand out, down to the last man, woman, and child. Every weapon, every setting, every face and every outfit needs to have its own character. The trick is in how to get there. I keep finding myself noticing something in the real world and saying "Perfect!", before realizing I don't know who it would go to.
Spent a chunk of last night going over Season 2's core plot with Sean. It's basically so he has background for using the main baddie in the campaign... still, helped me flesh out a few ideas I'd had floating free-form. So twas all good.
Anyways, supposed to be heading out to have dinner with the Mansfields at the same damn place again... er, I mean, the Wildfire Grill. *sigh* I'll be bringing my Dragonfly stuff. At least then I'll have something to work on while they and my parents talk. That's the one thing I hate about these dinners with them; how am I supposed to get involved in the conversation? Only thing I ultimately share in common with them is I like the Gilmore Girls, and I haven't watched a full episode in a year or so. Last time I brought up anime or my projects, their eyes glazed over. So, anyway, adios. Wish me luck. -_-;;
