In an amazing twist, meeting with your prof in order to discuss the draft of the paper is actually VERY HELPFUL! And rather uplifting. She said it looked like a B+ paper as it was (unfinished, a bit generalized, prone to tangents), so with some work I could move it to A- or even A range. And she was also very very nice and kind.
