It's been a while since I updated. Things have been great. My buddy Tina came and visited me recently and we painted the town red. I attended a WWE Smackdown! event in Baltimore (my first live, pro-wrestling event) and have a new appreciation for the "sport." Ozzy Osborne performed his new single during the filming by the way. He's one sprightly old guy!
In other news, I've been taking advantage of the City. Kickball behind the Washington Monument, European embassy tours, Shakespeare Festival (RSC!), Greek food in Old Town Alexandria, pool in Chinatown. It's been fun getting to know more people here although sometimes I just want some time to myself.
The next few weeks are also going to be nuts. I'll be in NYC this weekend for an engagement party, Atlanta next weekend for Memorial Day, and Connecticut the weekend after for a wedding.
But overall I think I've reached a turning point where I'm building a real life here, as opposed to just hanging on tooth and nail for the wild ride that is public affairs.
There are still challenges. Work continues to be tough. But I'm sweating it out. I don't know if I want to stay in this career forever, I'm keeping my options open.
Larry and I are doing well also. I'll be meeting his mom in Connecticut in June--Yes, I'm nervous. Really nervous, even though I really shouldn't be. He'll be meeting my uncle in October for a wedding in Chicago. I'm nervous about it, although Larry isn't for some strange reason.
But as for all these wedding bells, don't expect them from us anytime soon. Not that I can show Larry every once in a while an engagement ring I like. But he usually just dismisses it and asks me how I'm going to "tie [him] down."
