Mopods - Is it just me, or must ALL devices be named with a "pod" to be able to sell?
People will attach anything to a cellphone these days. From crucifixes, pocket knives, pepper spray to condoms, nothing says "My phone has personality" more than attaching cute/weird/light-emitting devices to them. Nevermind the fact that you end up talking to something that looks like it exploded out of the womb of an illegitimate relationship between a refrigerator and a pickup truck, the important thing is to look cool.
Well, to up the cool quotient a little further, a Japanese(REALLY, WHO ELSE COULD THINK UP AND APPRECIATE THIS CRAP?!) company has come out with Mopods, a type of cute, lucky charm type cellphone attachment that with weird aliens in them that will spin and shake uncontrollably whenever your phone rings. It's EXACTLY like that Digi YCF thingy in the local cinema advertisements (view the ad here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRKC27lUdDs), except that the alien in the Mopod doesn't look like it's getting tasered. Which is a shame, because I'm betting that if you taser the alien in the Mopod it will swell and shatter into pieces, unlike the Digi YCF thingy which will probably just drop dead.
Either way, I don't think a Mopod is worth the 4.95 pounds it's selling for, but then again, I have been wrong before. After all, people pay good money to walk around with a broken headphone (read: Bluetooth devices) sticking out of their earhole, so if you're still interested in purchasing it, go to
