Themes + More Polls

Offical Themes

The results are in! It was a close race, but the following themes have been selected by survey participants for promotion in our first Thematic Week:
  1. Hurt/Comfort
  2. Crossovers & Fusions
  3. Academic/University AUs
  4. Leading Ladies
  5. Creature & Wing Fic

In the original poll, I had Dragons, Vampires, Were!animals and Wing Fic in separate categories. Were!animals was the big winner. After some consideration, I decided it would be appropriate to go ahead and broaden the official theme to give podficcers more options.

It was a close race, guys! I'm very excited to see how this plays out. I'll be opening a post where everyone can suggest 10k+ fics that fit into these themes sometime in the next couple weeks, so start sorting through your bookmarks!

Edit: Suggested fics are optional. You don't have to claim a suggestion for your podfic. I also want to clarify for newcomers that podfics do not HAVE to fit into one of the themes. The themes are just there to provide an extra challenge for anyone who wants it.
Collaboration Community

As I am stepping back from involving myself with matchups this year, but I still want to promote communication and collaboration between podficcers, artists, betas and cheerleaders, I will be launching a PBB collaboration community. However, I'm dubious about hosting it on BOTH LiveJournal and Dreamwidth. I tend to favor Dreamwidth, but I want all participants to have the chance to weigh in. Whatever you guys decide is what I'll abide by.
Poll A Question for Artists

I understand that abolishing official matchups and, therefore, the claiming process may make things more difficult for you, which has been the main reason I have not attempted this arrangement before. A lot of people liked seeing all titles go up for claiming on a set date on a first come, first serve basis. Now that signups for all participants are ongoing and podficcers are no longer required to submit a title by a specific date, we need to find a way to enable communication between you and podficcers. This communication will happen on the new collaboration community.

My main question for you is whether you would prefer to (a) MAKE AN OFFER - post information about what sort of podfics you might like to contribute to and what sort of contributions you're interested in making so that podficcers may contact you for collaborations, (b) RESPOND TO REQUESTS - have podficcers post a request to the community for you to review so you may contact them about a collaboration, or (c) have both options.
Poll Betas and Cheerleaders

This year will probably not be very different from previous years, except that you'll be asked to post your offers of help to the collaboration community for podficcers and artists to respond to with their requests. Podficcers and artists may also post requests to the community, so you may wish to track the community/track the request tag when the time comes.
