Yesterday Christine and I went baby-item shopping. It was originally to buy baby clothes, but I decided that Mike and Natasha are getting plenty of baby clothes from everyone else, so it would be more practical to get other necessities such as bottles, binkies, blankies, etc. We ended up getting: a bed set (including a bumper pad, fitted sheet, and a comforter), a set of three bladder baby bottles with extra disposable bladders (these are the type that have a plastic bag "bladder" in the inside of the bottle in prevention of the baby accidentally swallowing air bubbles and it makes suction easier for the baby), a healthcare/grooming set (including thermometers, combs, nail clippers, etc), two Nuk binkies with a binkie clip, a set of really adorable onsies and say "Rockstar" and "Rock and Roll", an eeny weeny denim jacket, and a set of two bath towels. It was fun to shop for baby stuff, and of course Christine and I were squealing in cliche feminine joy at the oodles of cute everythings. We figured once we dropped off all the stuff at Mike's we'd take a look at what they already had and get a better idea of what to buy next time. Turns out Mike really doesn't have anything more than clothes, diapers, and a crib that Abuela bought. I think he's only actually purchased the diapers. 7 months in and they're still so unprepared. Christine and I agreed that, except for the baby shower gift, whatever we buy from now on will be to stay at The Mom's for babysitting. At least I'll know from all this what I need whenever the time comes for me to have children, which won't be for quite some time.
Eric's all moved in to his new apartment, so I have plenty more down time. A big thanks to Christine and Ceci for their help. Christine shocked the hell out of me by completely moving the last of the stuff -and there was quite bit- by herself into the car, while Eric and I were out getting food. I didn't even know she could lift that much weight. As a quick note I have to address that I'm happy to finally be dating someone who my friends get along with. I've always had situations where my exes either didn't like at least one (and in one case all) of my friends, or at least one friend didn't at all like my ex. *flashback to high school* Eric's only met Roxy and my more bookish friends once or twice, but there were no real awkward moments and, unlike my ex Sam, didn't later tell me how much he disliked my friends. In fact the only thing Eric mentioned was that Ryan creeps him out a little, which is a personal goal of Ryan's. I should probably expand on that a little: Ryan is purposely awkward and enjoys being the odd one out. -Roxy help me out with a good description to write in here-
Picture Time!
These were the only good photos this time. I felt that the chemistry between Mike and Natasha was off, like maybe they were having a bad day with one another. That, and I'm not that comfortable being assertive towards Natasha yet. I'll take more before the baby's born. I have a couple of ideas, one involving a dip tic with the abortion photography project I mentioned in
this blog, the other being my own take on a dip tic I saw of
Pink holding her pregnant belly and the other of her holding her baby One last thing to mention, I finished knitting a Gryffindor tie for my aunt and here's the photo:
