Well, the all-day workshop at Ft. Bragg has been confirmed, and they even agreed to my $1000 fee. So I'll be mingling with the Army intellectuals on Monday, and trying to teach them something new about public speaking. Created my detailed agenda last night and seems like the Company CO is happy with it. I've planned a few lectures, one impromptu speaking practice session, and one longer session where the soldiers practice military briefings on hypothetical problems. There will be about 40 soldiers in attendence, so I can't do much more than that. I'm not doing the workshop completely by myself either; the university-army liason will be working with me as well. He is a reserves army officer who works closely with the psyops battlion and also a univ. admin who manages our new toastmasters organization on campus. This should be interesting. If anything, I'll make some contacts with the psyops group, which is what my chair has been trying to do for awhile, and learn a few things about this particular side of the military. I just hope they learn something from me as well.
