First, Blake (aka the Fed beater) lost to Chile's Gonzalez in a THIRD SET NO TIEBREAK! Gonzo won 11-9 in the third set to take the match and I believe fended off three of Blake's match points.
Second, the Indian doubles team lost to Fed-Wawrinka.
Losers. Not just the literal term but more.
Third, Fedrinka then beat the No. 1 Bryan Brothers to reach the doubles final for gold medal contention. So even though Fed can't get a gold medal in singles, he can still medal at Beijing. Good for you Roger.
FOURTH. RAFA. BEAT. NOVAK DJOKOVIC in THREE SETS. Three tight sets from what I gathered in the TennisWorld comments.
Holy crap. My heart was thudding just scrolling through the match-calling. I can't watch a video of the match to feel that energy going through me.
Rafa's through to the final now and will battle for the gold medal. VAMOS!!!
I still want him to do well at the USO, possibly win it. If he doesn't, meh whatever. Just as long as he can hang on to No. 1 until mid of next year.
Good lord I'm completely fangirling Rafa now.
I didn't watch too much swimming last night. Watched the Aussies botch their chances in a couple events. Saw the Americans win. Didn't see Phelps win his seventh. *Yawn* Hasn't that become standard protocol?
