TV night started a bit late yesterday coz J's new monitor had arrived (mine is now on its way), so there was much faffing with desktop backgrounds & brightness settings & the like. TV night on Wednesday night started off with the last of the programmes about the paintings of the Victorians - which started off with the rising doubt & uncertainty in Victorian culture. Yesterday we went on a day trip to London :) The reason for the trip was the Porcupine Tree concert in the evening, but obviously we came into London earlier so we could go to the British Museum! ;) On the drive in we listened to an In Our Time about the Oracle at Delphi, which was interesting. While we were on holiday the only souvenir we bought to bring home was a book of traditional Kefalonian recipes. Most are things I don't think I'll be able to find the ingredients for here (like there's one that calls for the remnants of grapes that have been squeezed to make wine ... and goat & hare aren't meats one frequently (if ever) see in ( Read more... )

We only ended up watching one programme last night - J was (very) late back from karate and then when I switched the TV on (while he was finishing reading his email etc) I got sucked into watching the end of the Germany/Spain semi-final.
