Barney was in complete and total 'go mode' as he wandered the halls of the hotel. If he'd picked up Marshall's annoying habit of singing about every single thing he was doing, he'd probably be singing some jaunty tune about trying to find a wingman. But fortunately, he hadn't picked up on that giant goof's habits, and he was still as awesome as ever.

Still, that didn't fix the nagging fact that there was something off about Barney, and his flow was off. After some consideration, Barney had figured that everything was off because he didn't have a wingman. Sure, he was great by himself, but to be at the utmost awesome, a man needed his wingman, or more importantly, he needed a bro. There was almost nothing that could stop him from completing his quest to find a wingman.

'..Except for that..' Barney thought as he noticed a blonde woman running down the hallway. She seemed to be in shape, and not the scary butch-man type either. It'd been a while for Barney, and he figured it was time to see if he was as good alone as he remembered.

Raptor pilots flying high... Kara cut her chant off mid-phrase when she noticed someone else in the hallway. She slowed her run to a jog and nodded at the man - and she couldn't help but give him an appreciative once-over. Once or twice. Hey, Kara Thrace wasn't known for her subtlety.

"Evenin'," she offered to him as she continued. It was always a plus to have nice scenery during a workout. She could certainly appreciate.

"Good Evening yourself.." Barney said, letting his eyes take another trip around her body. It wasn't like Barney cared if she could tell he was doing things with his eyes.

He turned and watched her pass by. Yes, it was as fun to watch her come as it was to watch her go. Once she got far enough, he decided that stopping her would be good. "Actually, you're the first person I've seen here in... a long stretch of time." He said, trying to get her back towards him. He was figuring he might try the no one else around trick. That one usually worked. It wasn't a shoe-in, but it had better results than the naked-man.

She could enjoy the scenery, but that didn't mean she wanted to stop and pick the flowers.

Not necessarily.

She slowed even more and turned to look at the man again, checking him out ever-so-subtly. "You looking for someone in particular?"

Barney smiled at that. Of course he knew he was going to win. He was awesome. "You know, you can blame it on beginner's luck, but I blame it on being awesome." He said, as he scooped up the cards and started shuffling up.

He was going to continue to badger her just a bit for as long as he could keep winning. Which of course, was right until the end, because Barney Stinson could. Not. Be. Stopped!

Kara rolled her eyes. He wasn't even subtle about his arrogance. It was kind of disgusting, and at the same time, kind of hot. "You keep telling yourself that," she told him, a bit of her signature cockiness coming back in her tone.

"Gladly!" He said, as he gave the cards a few more shuffles before he dealt out the next hand. He would have almost offered the cut, but he never played with octagonal shaped cards, so how would he know about cheating?

She really didn't care about the cut. He'd won the first hand. She'd sweep the rest. As awesome as he thought he was, she was better. Or, at least, she had a hell of a lot of experience on him. She perused her dealt hand with satisfaction, though it didn't show on her face. She could work with this.

She paused to pour herself another glass of ambrosia to supplement the shots she'd just taken. Come on, she wasn't just going to be drinking when she'd lost.

She nodded and looked at him, expectantly. "So, what d'you have?"

Barney flipped his cards over and shrugged.

"That! Even though it's customary for the one that placed the last bet to reveal their cards first."

She scoffed at his mild protest. "Customary." She laid down her own cards while she spoke. "One thing you need to know about me - I don't do customary." She grinned then, delighted with the outcome of the round. "Six Up," she announced in satisfaction. "And that means you drink up."

Barney sighed, a little over the top for the hell of it, and poured out his 4 shots. "Well, I guess I can't win them alll." He said, downing his shots in succession.

He handed the cards over to her and waited for her to deal out the next hand. He shivered for a moment as he felt the aftertaste of the alcohol. Wow, he almost needed a chaser for this stuff.

Barney shook his head as he regarded the cigar. "Nope. I'm having to get used to this whole people from different times and planets thing. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's AWESOME, but definitely takes some getting used to." He said, as he took another puff off of his cigar.

He picked up his cards again and looked at Kara, waiting for her opening bet. His hand was utter trash, and he knew it. This wasn't looking good at all, but maybe the kitty would have something good, or whatever Triad players called the excess cards.

Barney shook his head as he regarded the cigar. "Nope, I'm having to get used to this whole people from different times and different places thing. I mean, it's completely AWESOME, but is taking some getting used to."

He took a puff of his cigar while he took a peek at his cards. His hand was utter trash, and he knew it. Well, at least he hoped that the kitty would be forgiving to him, or whatever Triad players called the leftover cards.

"Awesome may be pushing it," Kara countered. She held no positive feelings towards this place, interesting people or not. She took another puff of her cigar and perused her cards. Not as good a hand as she'd had last, but workable.

"One shot," she told him to start off the betting.

Barney nodded. "Works for me." He said, tossing 3 cards off towards her, and hoping that he would at least have something that was passable. He didn't want to get too drunk too early, that would take a lot of the fun out of it.

Kara placed Barney's cards on the discard pile and dealt him three more, then discarded two of her own cards and grabbed two replacements. Yeah. That really didn't help her hand, but she kept the reaction off of her face.

"So," she said to him, grinning a bit flirtatiously around her cigar, "what do you do, back on Earth?"
