Can't sleep so I'm reading the pregnant comm and older entries and going through the comments of one pissed me off. It was an entry about how a woman was in her childbirth class and her instructor mentioned that, if you use a visual aid and do the right breathing techniques, labor will not be that painful. The OP asked the instructor if she'd had any kids, and nope. Which explains why she'd say something so off.
But then people started joking in the comments with things like, "that's like having a male doctor tell you what contractions feel like!" and how it's like teaching a mountain climbing class after watching videos but having no first hand knowledge. All fun and hilarious, until someone said "Or a woman who had a medicated labor or c-section thinking she really knows anything at all about birth..."
Excuse me, bitch? Just because someone got drugs doesn't mean they don't know anything about birth. What a judgmental, shitty thing to say. Just because I'm not as crunchy as you doesn't mean that I have no knowledge of the birth of my two kids. How is it that no one else was offended enough to say something?
Anyway, I'm waddling off now to grumble at the cat and distract myself with a good book. I'll probably update more tomorrow with fun pictures and things, but right now I don't feel like uploading pictures and stuff.
