11 - But there's one thing I know and I know it for sure

Jul 12, 2011 18:49

[The view today isn't Muraki's apartment, but the lobby of an office building in Somni so freshly repaired that the pale blue paint on the walls is still damp. Several antique-looking porcelain dolls rest on a shelf behind the receptionist's area while the main part probably looks boringly familiar to people as a waiting room of some sort.]With ( Read more... )

...The dolls are a creepy touch, mate.

I like dolls and pediatrics was my speciality at home.

I'm just saying, though, that the 'fresh future' idea is a little off-putting when you've got enough dolls to fill a Quidditch pitch staring back at you.

I have no idea what Quidditch is.

Do you actually mean it? You really want a fresh start?

I do mean it.

[He's not lying...for once.]

I guess I could give you the benefit of a doubt then. [He's still going to be keeping an eye out though.]

Another doctor would be helpful I guess.

Helpful with what?

[He raises an eyebrow, a bit interested in this video from Muraki. A clinic? Can he really be trusted? Ah, the pot calling the kettle black. He decides to make this call private, as this man has a known criminal history in Somarium and he wants to keep his contact with criminals and known dangerous individuals as quiet as possible.]

It seems like you're pulling out all the stops this time around. A new clinic, offering your confidential services... Do you actually believe that people are forgiving enough to trust you and allow you a fresh start in Somarium?

I have to hope that at least some are. There are always new arrivals, after all, and they know nothing of what I've done in the past.

Ah, I mustn't forget about the new arrivals that aren't privy to the information that most others are. If you play your cards right, I'm sure you'll get around the reputation you've built for yourself in no time.

[A small laugh]

So, tell me about this clinic of yours. Anything I should be particularly aware of other than what you've already mentioned?

I think I've mentioned everything relevant. I was a skilled surgeon at home and even without that speciality, I'm still useful in general medicine.

So there was a flood here recently?

[That could explain the plant damage.]

A very high one. You're new, then. Welcome to Somarium.

Thank you, but yes I am new here.

[She paused for a moment.]

Can you please explain to me what exactly happened. I noticed some plants that were damaged as well, more than I thought they would.

Several weeks ago, it started to storm strange, black rain and that turned into a flood that would be impossible in my home -- I believe the waters were 80 feet or so high before it started to dry up. A lot of people have been in temporary housing unless they were lucky enough to live on high floors like me.

[OOC: Can you fill out this permission post? Muraki's a pretty horrible person at times and Flora seems like the type he might want to use to his own ends if possible.]

I don't need a doctor so I think I'll be missing out.

You might need one at some point.

Probably not. I've never been to a doctor.

How is that even possible?
