I'm a bitch (as if none of you knew this)
I was rollerblading on campus tonight...this morning...the hours are a bit fuzzy it was 3:30AM.
I was approached by a security officer and asked for my ID and where I lived. I gave over my ID (the student ID is the only thing I had on me) and then told him where I lived on campus. He summarily told me I wasn't allowed to use rollerblades on campus and to go home immediately or get into serious trouble.
I, of course, went immediately home. But, when I got home, I also immediately grabbed my laptop and proceeded to the central library where I looked up UTA's policy on rollerblading/skateboarding/bicycling and found that at no point does it say that the actions are forbidden except in certain locations that I was NOWHERE near.
I then went into the library approached the nearest security guard and asked if there was any other section of the policy I was missing...he said no, of course.
I then asked for a way to report the behavior I received on campus and got the #s to his superiors.
Turns out that it was his superior that had stopped me...and when I read exactly what the policy said to him he proceeded to apologize and explain that I was correct and that there were indeed no problems.
