Schtuff...

• Just found out the word limit for an abstract I'd already written, checked and found I was 3 words under.
• Housemate is doing a course here on campus for a couple of days, we totally didn't think to carpool this morning (or more accurately, we didn't think for me to get a lift).
• Have been in field for a couple of days, all went ok.
• Went to a Food and Wine Festival Spanish Lunch on Sunday (centered on cava and Rioja).  About 40 people, kinda expensive and a little hoity.  We may have been underdressed.  Was quite delicious (started with salt cod 'cigars' which were like extended spring rolls; oysters with a cava granita; a grilled goat curd and olive thingo, wrapped in potato sheet with a daikon salad; a chicken and chorizo roulade with corn puree and something; raspberry pannacotta; petit four - and accompanying wine of course).  They perhaps weren't quite as free with the refills as they should've been!  At the end they had 3 bottles of cava to give away, so our names went into a hat and I won one.  And then Q won the next one ;-)
• Finally saw Watchmen on Saturday night.  Tried to book tickets last 2 weeks, but the Greater Union website wouldn't let us.  Thought it must've been booked out (plausible for the first week or so?), but turns out the French Film Festival had broken their website.  Or so they claimed.  Enjoyed it.  But hard to think what I would've thought, had I not been familiar with the comic.  Went Gold Class ;-) Chairs so comfy, didn't notice how long the movie was.  That may have been the alcohol too though.
• Had dinner at the Moroccan Soup Bar on Friday night.  Caught up with Fleur and Neiman and Spawn.  Also Daria and fiancee.  Went back to F&N's later for drinks.  Drank quite a lot.
