Here is an interesting site to show off to students. I am showcasing to my senior students as an sandpit for some cool tools used by virtual teams around the world.

The book / CDROM set Point & Click OpenOffice.org! looks interesting. I notice that users can even freely download and try out some Open Office tutorial videos.

I am sourcing an Australian supplier through our librarian and hope to try some of this out on my students in my VCE IT classroom. Interested in your thoughts.

The VCAA have published online the details of the new study design for VCE Information Technology and we have a bundle of CDROMs to guide us ahead. Our year 12 course will change its name from Information Processing and Management (IPM) to IT Applications (ITA).

The VCAA team  probably put in a lot of work to get this ready and complete in time. ( Read more... )

Our year 12 VCE senior students had their formal dinner-dance on a ship that left from the Melbourne docklands. There was a good staff turnout, average food and interesting views of the container port and city skyline. I drank too much flat lemonade, at least the coffee had some kick ( Read more... )

Moodle version 1.6 will have an SQL database module add on. With this module, users can interactively build custom databases and select any type of data to be submitted on-line.
