Too much lemonade

Nov 16, 2006 12:52

Our year 12 VCE senior students had their formal dinner-dance on a ship that left from the Melbourne docklands. There was a good staff turnout, average food and interesting views of the container port and city skyline. I drank too much flat lemonade, at least the coffee had some kick.

Hard to recognize many students as they all look so different out of uniform, hair died and dressed formally. I saw many well polished, black shoes. After a year of telling them to wear proper school shoes, they must have been saving these for best. ;-)

Steve showed me how to take good photographs with his Nikon SLR digital camera and electronic flash by shooting from the hip.

For the past few years, a group of lads has consistently played cards in the school corridor. During the wet weather I let them come into the computer room to play during their lunch break. Whilst nearly everybody was dancing to the music downstairs, I laughed to see them still playing cards in their black and white suits on the top deck!
