First let me wish everyone who reads this a very happy Turkey Day…even if it was yesterday. Madison and I have been enjoying a few days down in Georgia. The whole family is down here which means quite a lot of small children wrangling. We’ve got 2 one year olds, 1 three year old, and 1 six year old. It’s quite a handful as they all vie for attention. Though I think with seven adults, we’ve got enough to watch them all. I keep wanting (in part due to a conversation with Madison) to create a set of functions as to how excited kids get when there are A) more kids, B) more adults, and C) how they distribute their excitement over the population of adults. If I can figure this out, I’ll get the ideal number of kids and adults to minimize the greying of hairs due to stress.
Turkey Day was a good one with the whole family. Lots of food and relaxing. We’ve had a few issues with kids colliding or kids only wanting their parents but overall nothing too excessive. I’m sure a good part of it is them being ramped up for the holidays, strange eat schedule, and lots of people being around. I seem to keep going back to the kids, most likely because I’m watching one of them now as I type this. He’s playing with his trains in the basement. Eventually today we’ll be making lefse. I’m excited for that, as it’s a lot of fun for the whole family. It will also be Madison’s first time making it. I think she’ll enjoy it too.
We fly back tomorrow around midday and hopefully won’t have much in the way of traffic or congestion at the airports. Flying down was busy but moving at a steady pace. Neither Madison nor I were selected for additional x-rays or pat downs. They had the equipment out, but there were a small amount of TSA people, so I figure they were waiting for more to arrive. The machines kind of looked like a bunch of baby TARDIS’s. Or is it TARDISes. TARDISi? I should know the plural for TARDIS. Anyways, I should wrap this up as we’ll likely be doing family stuff soon and I need to help Andrew clean up.
