My own weekend...

Jun 14, 2005 20:20

Holy crap, for once, two days off in a row! Been one hell of a weekend, even though I had to work. Now that I have the days off, it's my own weekend. lol.

Thursday, I had my appointment to be tested for STD's... a precautionary procedure. She mentioned it, and said her Dad would feel better if I was checked out. I have no problem, as I've never been tested. I was only active with one prior, but with my access to bloodborne pathogens, via the fire department, I figure it's definitely a good idea to on the safe side. We waited showed up late, and the nurse still took a while to get to us. The forms were numerous and amusing. They probably thought I was lying when it asked for my first sexual contact... 24 years of age. Anyway, the drew blood, and I peed in a cup. My test results are going to take a couple of weeks, so I get to worry for a while... cept for the Herpes test, which should be available by mid-week the following week. Scary part is, the nurse said that 96% of humans have this disease in one form or another. I wasn't sure if I wanted to know, so I chatted with Amy to see if she had the test, because if one of us knows, the other should. She got an appointment for Monday to be sure.

We stopped by the Blue Canoe, which apparently can't make up its mind as to its name, as it was called Bananas a short while prior, and got some dinner, and proceeded to her place. We ate, and parted. She had to be to work. On the way home, I see a truck with a billboard for the Blue Canoe, and other names they have attempted. One side had Noah's Market, with a basket of exotic animals. The other side had another one, but I couldn't catch it as it made a corner.

My night with Amy, that night, was interrupted by Jamie getting home early from work. He had to go to the hospital for his hand. He came home and played X-Box, which didn't make much sense, but whatever. The doctor prescribed him 800 mg ibuprofen pills. They seem to have helped, and he hasn't missed anymore work since. I was just a pain to have him disturb our quiet evening alone, and to have Mike calling me from work to get a ride. I told him to ask around first, as it would be a two hour round trip from where I live just to get him and drag him home. I haven't had the money for gas, the days I have to work. Turns out he got a hold of Steve, and he drove from his home in Old Orchard to get him. I feel bad, but I was tired, poor and had company.

Saturday, I was invited to go up to Shan's Mom's place in Lisbon Falls... North of Lewiston. She was celebrating her graduation with a pool party. It's been forever since I've been to a pool party, and this was certainly the most fun I've had at any party. I drove over to Shan's, and got there just as she calls me to warn me she was going to be late. She turns around halfway to Amy's house and comes and gets me. We pull into Amy's driveway just as Amy calls me. "Where are you?" "In your driveway" "Oh, I just woke up, and haven't even dug up some clothes!"

We drag her back to Shan's place, where I meet her grandparents. They seem to be nice people. From there, Shan takes her car, and Amy drives the Jeep, as I haven't gotten any sleep since before work Friday night. She loves that thing now :). We stop by and pick up Mike on the way to the pike. When we get there, their friend Ben meets us. He's the one that had a crush on Amy, but she didn't share his feelings. I originally wasn't going to go, because we didn't want him to be uncomfortable, but more of Shan's friends were supposed to show up, and they'd take his mind off of things. They didn't end up showing up. :-/ We had hamburgers, hotdogs, and pasta salad, and then jumped into the pool. Ben didn't join us in the pool, as he had to leave early to head to Rhode Island. Once he left, it was just Shan and Mike, me and Amy, and Shan's older friend who spent her time in the house with Shan's Mom. Upon meeting her Mom, I see where Shan gets her personality from. Her Dad spent his time crashed on the couch in front of the tube.

Anyway, we spent the afternoon playing in and swimming in the pool. Mike and Shan beat the crap out of themselves landing on the water on their backs and shoulders. Amy swallowed a bit of the pool, and had to run in the house. The chlorine made her sick. I was compelled to follow her, but I was too wet to track into the house. I worried and paced, until I hadn't heard from her in a while, and went in after her. She said she was okay, so I went back out and waited. She must've been okay once she purged the pool water, becuase she dived right back in. A storm that had been circling all day finally started to get closer. We all got out and got dried off and dressed, in the early evening. I crawled onto a wicker sofa, and mike a chair, on the porch. I fell fast asleep, with Amy sitting next to me, and Shan next to Mike. Mike later commented how nice it was to have us curled up with our respective women. It was pleasant... the whole day was. Especially when we calmed down and cuddled, floating in the pool earlier. Mike with Shan, and Me and Amy.

Once it was time to go, I got directions, and Amy loaned me her debit card so I could get some gas to get to work. She's truly a sweetheart. She insisted that I fill the tank, but I only put $10 in. I hate feeling like a leech. Mike bought us some Moxie energy drinks, which seemed to have saved our asses. It was a long night at work. I made it there with 20 minutes to spair, so Mike and I reclined our seats and caught a couple of winks. Luckily, I got a fairly active job, single-handedly scanning all the merchandise that came in off the truck. I don't like to brag, but I'm one of the few people that can keep up with 2 truck unloaders. I did well, in spite of fighting to keep my eyes open, and my arm getting tired from being elevated with a 5 pound laser terminal, as Amy had dived into the pool and landed on my bicep. Oh well, I survived. lol. At break time, I crashed at the table. I didn't have money for food, thankfully it was ice cream sunday night. The rest of the night proved easier, as I had my second can of Moxie Energy. That stuff is awesome. Doesn't taste anything like Moxie, and it is high-octane!

The next morning, I drop Mike off at his house and scoot up to Amy's. I spent the whole day sleeping. Amy got up and left for a while to run some errands. She asked if I needed anything at the grocery store. I said, in a stupor, I'm out of shampoo at the house. I stayed, dead to the world. She came back with Purell, instead of Prell. I was confused. I couldn't recall if I had said Prell or Purell. She handed me the Prell, and said she was being an ass. I had to laugh. Typical of her. lol. She said I could keep the Purell hand sanitizer, but I don't use the stuff. I believe more in soap and water. She also brought Taco Bell. I saw a Taco Bell while we were out the other day, and commented on the fact that I hadn't eaten there in forever. I was totally dumbfounded. She even got soft tacos, like she just knew what I like. It was too perfect. Afterwards, I went back to sleep, still totally wasted... good food in my tummy :). We woke up and watched the Simpsons and Family Guy. Had a little fun, and then I raced to work.

She had to loan me her EZ-Pass as neither of us had change for the pike, and it was the fastest way to South Portland. She got me to the onramp in Biddeford in 15 minutes, and then I floored it, 80-85 in my Jeep Wrangler. I pulled into the Target parking lot at 9:59 pm... put it in park just as it hit 10 sharp. Work sucked horribly. We had two trucks, and most of the freight hit the backrooms... We typically have 6 or 7 pallets, that night we counted 19. We counted it as a loss, and did what we could. I stayed until 730, when my shift usually ends at 630 on a double. I had talked to Amy that night, and she was chatting with Jamie, my roommate and cousin. He had his female friend, Jame, whom he's been pining over and trying to woo for forever, and his friend Chester. Turns out Chester and Jame were all over each other all night, and Jamie (see spelling to keep up with me ;) ) was all depressed. I half expected strangers were screwing in my living room and eating all of my food, while Jamie was sleeping, so I scooted home before I caught up with Amy to assess the damages.

I was impressed to find that Jamie slept in the living room with the other two, so as to keep an eye on them. Neither of his friends drive, so they had to stay so Jamie could get some sleep and drive them home, or he would have thrown them out. I was thinking all night, since Amy told me what was going on, that I'd be getting home to raise hell and boot them out myself. I pull in as Jamie is loading them into the car to leave. I walk in and look around. Everything seems in order, for the most part. The dishes were still dirty, and some of my food eaten, but not nearly as bad as I thought. They did somehow use up all of my drink mixes in the matter of 2 days, and the living room light switch was left on, but the lamps shut off. Ah well. I head over to Amy's after a shower, and we head to an appointment. It was her turn for testing, and I wanted to be there for support, as she was for me. She took me to Aroma Joes, where she raves about the Krispy Creme donuts. I was impressed neither by the coffee or the donuts. The donuts at Dough Boy are just as good, if not better, and their coffee is great. Then we stopped by Hannaford, in Sanford, for some pizza fixins, for that night, when she was to get home from work... to my place. We swung by her place, and seperated after a brief 'nap'.

I actually had Monday off this week, and was going to meet up with my coworker, Matt (Applesauce), but he had to wait for his fiance, and by that time, I was fast asleep. He called me while I was sleeping and left a message that I should go to his place, but I was in no place to drive. Neither was Jamie. Jamie took off later that night, after he slept, to go to his folks'. Amy came by, while I was sleeping, and woke me up. I had meant to be up, and have the pizza well on its way. Oops. We ate one, and put the other in the fridge, and then crashed. We slept in, until she had to be to work. Amy had to stop by her place on the way, so she left early. I mistakenly wished her good luck at work.

While she was at work, I stayed up, watching tv on my desktop computer, and updating
my livejournal and websites. Someone anonymous read my journal, and made the comment that I had a lot of photos linked to from my homepage of my ex-girlfriend. It was time for some updating. I rewrote it, redid the links as some of them were dead, and pointed my photo links to a newer album. The Brown Family Website, browncookiejar.org, still had it's December graphics of our first year anniversary as the .org.

Amy just called from work. She's not having a very good night. Someone called her from a private number and didn't leave a message, and then she fudged some parts. I told her it could be Shan, calling from Mike's house, as everytime he calls, it comes up private. Quality Control let her part pass. She says the phone call made her feel much better. I'm glad I could help :).

UPDATE:
This entry covers so much time, that it's taking me 2 friggin' days to complete it!

Jason stopped by after Amy calls. Says he'll be ready to move in next week. He says his coworkers are picking on him for having payed rent, and not even moving. He had strept throat for a while, and is just now getting over it. Anyway, we chatted and chatted and chatted... something we're direly good at. Neither of us can shut up once we get started. He mentioned some ideas on how to repair some minor issues with my Jeep, and stuff. About 1230 am, I make up the pasta and the jar of my Mom's homemade sauce. I made enough for Jason. Amy showed up shortly after it was ready, all sore as she had fallen off of a machine at work. Between the context of her fall, she decided to take a vacation day. We had dinner and chatted some more. Eventually, Jay headed home, and we watched tv and she hogged my laptop. lol. We went to bed and pretty much just slept.

Now, we're up, both lying in bed with our laptops. hehe. She's playing a Meepit game on Neopets, and I'm still trying to finish this novel. Later, I've got some grocery shopping to do, and she and I will finally get some Chinese food we've been craving.
