Yesterday, I had read that Amy was feeling down, so wanting to cheer her up, and me needing a hug, too, I headed over to her house. It was Tuesday, and I didn't have to sleep for work, so I stayed up. She had just woken up, and was watching a soap opera when I snuck in. She was so flabbergasted she could barely speak. We snuggled a bit, and then I tagged along with her to run some errands. She's coming around to my Jeep :)... I let her drive when we're out her way, as I have no idea where anything is, and she loves waving at the other Jeeps. I dropped her off, as she had to literally run to work to make a mandatory meeting. I promised her a little 'surprise' after work, and told her to save her apetite.
I dragged Jamie out of his room, and down to the lake(Peqwuaket in Limington, typically referred to as 'the lake'), when I got home. The water was chilly at first, but wasn't too bad after I got used to it. We were alone for a while, until a woman came down with her daughter. We chatted, I swam around a bit, and we annoyed each other a little, splashing about. Probably a bad example for the little girl on the shore, but whatever. Afterwards, I swung by my Mom's and caught up. My latest issue of Computer Gaming World came in, and I hadn't even read the last one! Man, I'm slacking. I asked her if she had some candle-holders and some tall candles. She had the holders, but no candles. She recommended the dollar store, so I drove Jamie back to the apt so he could go to his folk's, and drove to Standish. The dollar store was closed, so I went into Hannaford bought a couple of tall white unscented candles and a loafage of bread. The cashier was floored when I came through with that. "Planning a special evening?" "Yeah, going to make dinner for my gf" "You good at cooking?" I blush, "Well, we'll see!"
I drive into Gorham, as the Standish branch of my bank doesn't do night deposits (argh), and drop off some money, and then scoot all the way back home. By the time I get here, Jamie is back. I clean up the kitchen a little, and set up the candles. I take a short nap until Jamie gives me the wakeup call around midnight. I get up half an hour later, and he has gone back to his folks for the night so he could make some appointment in the morming. Yes! The place to ourselves! I cook up some stir-fry and rice with the Peanut Sauce I found at the grocery store. I prayed it was the stuff Amy was raving about. I light the candles, and leave the pots on the table. While I'm burning an MP3 CD of love songs to play on my boombox, Amy calls and says she's around the corner and appologizes for being late. I tell her it's ok, I'm still getting things ready. Apparently, she had forgotten I was making her dinner. Although, the candles and music were a last-minute idea, I think it went over well. She drove in, and I'm cursing at my computer to finish the lead-out of the CD. It finished just in time, and I make it downstairs to stop her at the door. She has a bewildered look on her face as I shut off the lights and start the music. Nothing but candle-light. I take her hand and seat her at the table, all the while she's stammering "What's going on? What's this?" We ate and talked. The food turned out very well. She was impressed with the Peanut Sauce :D. After we ate, I pulled her up, and we danced in the candle light in the kitchen. The whole evening, her face is hurting from the smiling and giggling. We sat for a while, letting the food settle, and the atmosphere sink in. We sing to the music. She's got an angelic voice. Too bad she doesn't show it off more often.
A little while later, we're driving in the dark, top off the Jeep, to the lake to go skinny dipping. It's almost 4 am, and just barely becoming light out. We get down there, and I close up the Jeep so we don't freeze on the way home. We shed our clothes and wade out into the water. It was the first time I ever did such a thing. It was fun. I was so nervous that the tourists would come out of the camp next door to the resident's public beach and catch us. About the time her teeth are chattering, we go and lie on a towel on the beach for a few. When it was time to go, we got dressed, and she couldn't put her shoes on, so I have her climb on my back, and I piggy-back her through the woods to the Jeep. On the way home, the day begins to break behind us.
We got home and crawl into bed and warm each other up. It was a chilly ride home.
Today, we got up, and I go with her to her Mom's. She had gotten a call at work with a request for her presence, as her Mom had some 'life changing' thing to tell her. I figure she needs the support, so I decided to tag along. Turns out, the life changing thing was that she had found some old LL Bean skis she had when she was younger, and wanted Amy to take it home with her to put with her Dad's skis. Apparently, it was to be some sort of peace offering to her Dad and step-mom. She was up in arms wether or not she wanted Amy to 'inherit' them, or to hock them for money. We ended up bringing them back with us. Amy's Mom is an odd one, I'll give her that. lol.
Well, now I'm procrastinating my laundry and house cleaning. She's at work, and doesn't want to be... and it's trying hard not the thunder-shower outside. I had to close up the Jeep again, dammit. At least I already have had more opportunities to drive topless this year, than last!
