Testin' out the new lappy...

Well, it's not exactly a new lappy, it's my CEO's old lappy. It's kind of a piece of crap, but it's better than the one I have now which is 6 years old and on it's way out. This is an IBM Thinkpad, it has a 1GHz processor and 256 MB of RAM. I thought it had a built in Wireless LAN card but apparently it's in the docking station (WTF) which I left on my desk at work. Seems like a ridiculous place for a Wireless LAN card, but whatever, I just yanked my PCMCIA card out of my machine. Right now I'm testing the battery life, so far it's not so good. Apparently I only have about an hour on a full charge. I'd really like a little more so I can spend some time working in the park once in a while, Val said he would buy me a new battery if I need it. The other slightly annoying thing is that the screen is all fucked up. There's a funky vertical line that appears once in a while and a series of horizontal lines in the middle that float up and down with the mouse cursor. It's not too big of a deal, it doesn't interfere too much and goes away if you play with the screen a little bit. It's really only for when I go out of town, I won't be using it that often so I think I can deal. OK, bleah, the thing has 58% of the battery left and it just decided to go into Stand By. I definitely need a new battery...

I'm trying to get all my crap together for tomorrow, but I'm feeling a little lazy right now. I managed to clean out my car and reorganize all the gear that was left in there from Bonnaroo. I still need to get my clothes organized and prepare some of the food. Hopefully I can get motivated in a few minutes. I think in the meantime I'll go on my desktop and print out all the directions. This lappy is about to die...
