(Tim posting)
The surgeon came out to the waiting area and talked to me to say that surgery went fine, as expected. I got a bunch of details about it that I don't understand at all, but Sandra will be fascinated with. Sandra's in recovery now and I'll be able to talk to her in an hour or two when she's recovered enough to be moved to her room.
The only blemish on the whole process was having to provide urine to prove that she was not pregnant, before they would perform the surgery. While very dehydrated, no less. Despite urinalysis _days_ before and her assurances that there was no possible way, the american treatment of fetuses as having greater rights than persons prevailed.
-update-
Oh hey, the room has wifi, and the nurses say it's even okay to use it.
Sandra's feeling better slowly, but she's spent most of the day sleeping. We're watching 'Some Like it Hot' to distract her from feeling nauseated. I'm getting my cot and we'll probaby crash. Soon. Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone.
