As for the urine test... it's a liability thing. Unfortunately, there are plenty of women out there that would sue the doctor, hospital, anyone they could if it was discovered they were pregnant and the surgery harmed Wittle Pwechus. I have medical folk in my family and it's crazy the amount of CYA they have to do. :-\
