Eternal Question on my Mind

Sam and I just finished watching 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and first off I have to say I forgot how much I loved this movie. So original with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet giving great performances. Although, I wonder if I would give the same glowing review if I am wrong about the ending. it is really fuzzy to me because while it is one of my favorite movies i have not seen it in ages and ages but i do believe i agree with Sam. my mind is not fully working yet, on just a half a cup of coffee but I am pretty sure that was how I saw it every time I watched it.

That's too bad. Go have another cup and then rethink your answer. :)

That is probably in my top THREE of favorite movies. I cry my eyes out every single time I watch that movie-and I have seen it at least 100 times.

And I have to agree with you. I am a hopeless romantic ANYWAYS-so I just cannot bring myself to think that they part ways!

Maybe the ending was intentionally ambiguous, so the viewer could decide for themselves.

I've only seen that movie once a long time ago, so I don't remember.

It's been awhile, but I was always under the impression that they decided to "start over" at the end. Although I'm not sure whether it was romantically, or just starting as friends to see how it went. KWIM?
Anyway, I loved that movie :) I was surprised to see Jim Carrey do something not his typical role, and I was so impressed. I'm glad he's not a 1-trick pony. And of course Kate Winslet is almost always wonderful in whatever role she chooses.

I remember watching the movie for the first time thinking - Wow, Jim is so great in this role, so different. I hope he gets an Oscar nom or something. - He didn't, but at least Kate did. She IS amazing.
