Tonight's wisdom from my mother is: "This is your fault for having friends. If you didn't have a friend you'd never have an enemy."
That's right folks. Conclusion: If you never let yourself love anything or anyone, you'll never get hurt. No one will have the power to hurt you. Ever. It's almosts a 100 percent guarentee.
What is that Martin Luther King quote. Paraphrase: Power and Love are often seen as opposites but Love without power is anemic and weak and Power without love is abusive. If I ever chose to love someone again they are going to have the power to hurt me. It's just part of the deal. The idea is to chose someone who will not use that power against me. And as to friends, how is it the one horrible dirty whore friend that betrayed me somehow represents all the reasons that friends are unncessary when I can name soooooooooooooooooo many people who have literally (in some cases) held me up and kept me going through friendship alone in the last eight months. Whatever mom.
