So far, so good!

My weekend was pretty good. We had a really big combat with the Beta Testers on Saturday, and it went very well. I'm actually surprised; we won! :)

Somehow our couch broke Wednesday night; one of the supports was kind of of crappy. That's IKEA couches for you. So, Chad spent a good portion of the day Sunday figuring out exactly what was wrong with it, getting the supplies, and fixing it. Happily, I have my massive 5 person couch again, and after a little bit of Chad magic, it looks to me that it is more stout than it was when we started. So, hopefully it won't happen again, because I'd hate to have to get a new couch. Not only are couches expensive, but I LIKE the one we got. Its very firm, which feels nice when your sitting on it, and its easy to take care of with the slip covers. So....yeah. I'll be bummed if there is another issue with it.

Other than that, we didn't really get a whole lot done. We bought a few groceries for today, the beginning of the 'revamp' as Chad calls it. He is doing a bit of a lifestyle change, and I figured I'd change some of my eating habits to go along with my new found exercise and swimming. So, Chad actually got up at 6:15 to make me breakfast. Woah... :) The pancake recipe was sort of....glue like, but I think with a little tweaking, it will be okay. I'm a bit of a pancake elitist because my pancakes are THE BEST in the world, but hopefully I can spread my pancake magic to make even diet-y pancakes taste good.

We scheduled development meetings starting next week, and I'm THRILLED to get them started. We have decided to dedicate one Wednesday and one Saturday a month to development with the Beta Testers. I have heard non-stop all weekend about how excited that are to actually assist with some of the behind the scenes work, so we'll see how it goes. The plan was actually to start the development meetings this coming Wednesday, but out Beta Group A was sort of stuck in the middle of something pretty fun, so we decided to push it off a week.

I swear, this game is quite crack like. :) Everyone that has played or become involved has really gotten sucked in, which is sort of crazy, but awesome at the same time. Good thing its copyrighted! :)

Chad and I had the discussion on  Friday about opening the doors up a little bit. As much as we'd like to do everything by ourselves, I have finally convinced him that we are going to need more manpower. Unfortunately, out of everyone that he has ever met, he has come to the realization that there are only two people that he would ask if they'd like to get involved (who isn't already)...and one is his high school best friend, David, who has already offered to handle all of the agent/lawyer/business creation issues for us. Kind of crazy, but I do understand. This game is his baby, and its really good. So, I can understand his hesitance. I think we both agreed that when it gets going, (which we are still a few months away from there), there will have be be resumes submitted for paid staff....and our target for staff, but like our target market, won't be LARPers.

Friday was the Web site meeting. I have been monkeying with Yahoo! PageBuilder (which is a piece of shit), and finally I got both Doc and Chris and Jess together in the same room to go over everything that we need the site to do, what we expect and want, and how we're going to go about doing it. They made it sound like cake. I know how good Doc is with the art half of the actual web site, Chris has a degree in web site design, and Jess is good with programs, so hopefully it will work well with no issues. But it was nice to get to hang out with the three of them without anything crazy happening, and I was happy to get the feeling that Chad was more involved. I will have to be patient with the web site, but it will only be a few more weeks until progress is made. Until them, it will have to look sort of NASA-y.

Other than that, same old same old. But the day has started out good, followed by a (fairly) productive weekend...so the week seems to be off to a good start. So far, so good. :)
