I know people were upset over the debacle, and I can sympathise, but what bugs me now, are the number of people who cannot let it go. They say SixApart took too long to respond, and I have to ask:
Is this your first time ever, dealing with a corporation?
Trust me, I was rather surprised at the turnaround speed. Sure, on the internet, two days may be an eternity, but don't forget that SixApart exists in the real world, too.
Things happen. Screw-ups happen, and in the real world, they don't automatically fix themselves.
Getting mad at the apology doesn't help, either. Frankly, any kind of mea culpa in a case like this is -- again -- a surprise for anyone who deals with the real world. Companies and corporations don't admit they screwed up... there are unfortunate confluences of events, but they never got it wrong. They may alter their decision, but they do not say 'I'm sorry.'
No, they're not going to bend over and kiss your ass, and I applaud them for not doing so.
To be honest, they've handled this debacle better than most.
