HodgePodge

Had an okay weekend. Did a double feature of X-Men 3 and Mission:Impossible 3 on Friday night. I overloaded a bit, but still managed to enjoy both of them fairly well. Saturday I lost $10 at poker. I just don't do as well outside of a tournament-type setting. Had fun until about midnight and then got cranky-bored. Sunday I went with Jeremy to look at an apartment so I could do some name dropping (it's in a building right next to my aunt's store, and I knew that my aunt and others new the guy, so I thought we could work that angle - still waiting to see if it works) and then went to my dad's for the afternoon.

I played with my cousin's kid, Brandon, who's two and a half. We're throwing a stuffed penguin back and forth and I can hear my step-mom, aunt, grandma and a couple of my dad's friends comment on how good I am with children and how I always have been. I thought I was going to get out of the whole "when are you going to get married and have kids" thing, but I think it's going to swing back around in a year or so and smack right into me. And I am good with kids, but...does that really obligate me to have one? Pfft, it's easy to be good with kids when you can hand 'em back over at the end of the day. But despite that I had a blast playing with Brandon, and I think Debbie (my aunt/his grandma, who is raising him) appreciated the break.

Had a bad day at work yesterday, but I think it's going to be okay. I mucked something up pretty badly, but have fixed it and no real damage done. Andrew and I talked about it, and how much of our laid-back attitude about things comes from our parents. "Is anyone going to die from what happened? No? Then it's not that bad." Ate mac and cheese for dinner and watched Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events to make myself feel better, which seemed to work. I also took the morning off, but that was mainly due to some harsh cramps and the need to wash some clothes.

Am now at work and feeling mostly better. Listening to Wax Tailor, which I highly recommend, specifically Que Sera. Good stuff. Bosslady is out again, so work is slow. Am working on creating some calendars with google's new feature and customizing up my google homepage.
