I figured there were some Pittsburghers out there who would want to take advantage of this. I <3 Randall's. :)

I need about a gallon or two of glycerin by this evening... is there any place in Pittsburgh that I could buy this?

Best I've been able to find is 6- and 8-oz bottles at drug stores.

1st edit: Fog machine juice premix would work too...  since that's what I need it for.

2nd edit:  Found fog juice at Party City - 50% off no less.

i am looking for a unique gift. decorative. art, paintings, furnishings. that kind of thing but i don't want it to be mass produced...so, cool thrift shops/boutiques/the like? i'm thinking shadyside would prob have something but i'm pretty unfamiliar with all areas that aren't south side, so i come to you guys for suggestions of places to look.

My mother needs to get an air cast boot. The doctor wants her to start wearing one right away, but they didn't have any in their office, so she has to find one on her own.

So, now that the Border's at Penn Circle will be closing, now that Joseph-Beth on the South Side has already closed, and more than a year after the B&N on Murray closed, it seems that Pittsburgh-proper will be without any bookstores selling a wide selection of new books and magazines. Is there anywhere in the city I can go to have some custom (pin-back) buttons made? I want a total of 7 buttons made, which is expensive online. I've found sites that sell bulk buttons for $0.30 each, and sites that sell individual buttons for $3 each. Stupid economies of scale ( Read more... )

My SO has been looking to buy an upright bass. He cannot go top-of-the-line, so the budget is ~$600 (max). Are there any music stores in the area that sell instruments, or should he stick to online?

I'm looking to replace, specifically, the toothpick of my Swiss Army knife. I've checked online at and/or called some of the Big Box stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Target) and they don't seem to carry just replacement parts.
