sweet refrigerator pickles (1 qt)
slice up 10 medium pickling cucumbers
mix together 1 qt. cold water + 1/4 cup pickling salt and pour over cukes
refrigerate overnight, next day rinse and drain
make brine of 1 cup water, 1 cup vinegar and 1.5 cups sugar
bring brine to a boil, pour over cukes, add 1/2 an onion (chopped) and 4 whole cloves of garlic
refrigerate overnight

Yesterday we went over to Michelle's house and made pickles! We made 21 quarts of dill pickles which will be ready in two weeks (I can hardly wait!). I also got Melissa's refrigerator pickle chip recipe, so I'm working on some sweets now (those will be ready on Monday ( Read more... )
