It's snowing again. So I'm home on a Friday night, because I'm southern and don't like to drive in the snow. My Midwestern father taught me how, but I still don't like it.
I was all curled up on the couch watching TV when it occurred to me that I'd left a whole box of new contact lenses in the car. I was afraid they'd freeze, so I went down and got them. As it happens, I'd accompanied my TV-watching with two glasses of wine, so I was kind of relaxed. I shared an elevator ride with a British woman who lives in my building. She asked about the weather, and I answered, and then I suddenly realized I was copying her accent. Totally by accident.
She probably thinks I'm insane. No more wine for me.
