The moving finger, having written, moves on...and ties a whole bunch of knots!

Since Smutler ate my brain, and I don't need a brain to make stuff, I've started working on Teh Fabulous Scalp-and-Bone-Festooned Bellydance Costume (tm).

I found some kickass skeleton garlands at the dollar store (the skeletons are about two inches wide at the ribs and maybe six inches long, and they're all yellowed up and gnarly-looking---and best of all they're articulated at the neck and hip joints). I'm weaving a narrow belt out of hemp rope and attaching the skeletons to the belt with braided jute twine (which came as part of the garland) a la tribal tassels. I have eight of them and I figure I'll make the belt forty inches long and either space them five inches apart or use five of them and space them eight inches apart. There's some loose fake hair down at the local beauty supply store and I'm using that to make sections of two-foot hair fringe between the skeletons. I plan to wear it tied over a bedlah belt decorated with seven inch premade hair fringe (I got seven feet of this stuff this at Goodwill for SIXTY-NINE CENTS!), some hand-done hair fringe of varying lengths, and fake suede that has been painted to look like bloody skin sewn together in patches. I really want some nice fake yellow teeth and finger bones to sew on the bedlah belt, but I'll probably have to have them custom-made. I can't complain, though; this costume is turning out way cheaper to make than I thought it would.

(Hair fringe! At Goodwill! For SIXTY-NINE CENTS! Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! I can't get over that. It's totally the find of the century.)

I promise I'll post pictures. XD
