Red Sox lost today by the score of 6-5. I figured today would be chalked as an L but it still kind of sucks. They have to win tomorrow though. Get a split in Chicago and then head home for some home cooking. Clay isn't looking good, that's for sure. I think he may need to be demoted and get some more AAA work in. I also think a lot of it is really in his head. I dunno I always get the impression that Clay sometimes doubts himself and you gotta have loads of confidence in order to succeed in baseball. But I don't know Clay personally so my impressions are likely a load of crap. Anyways sucky loss, but shit happens. I dunno I'm really just all calm and zen about losses and wins these days...at least for now. however once September rolls along, I promise I'll be all angrypants. I just get the impression that it's not Boston's year to go all the way. I think they'll hit up the playoffs but will likely get an early exit especially since the competition is the Angels and then two teams in domes(which the Red Sox sport an uber shitty record playing in...btw I'm talking of the Twins adn Rays) should the teams who are leading now shall make it. Not a good combo. I really just wanna see them make it to the playoffs mostly. If they win beyond the making the playoffs bit, I'll be thrilled don't get me wrong. I'm HOPING they go all the way because that's what fans do. The thing is that I don't really think that they will. Slight difference with THINK and HOPE. I'm at peace with whatever happens this season, however, if they miss the playoffs, I'll be a little pissed off. Also Wakefield is on the DL and there's questioning of who'll make his starts. I think all signs are pointing to either Hansack or Charlie Zink. I love Hansack, I really do, but I'd love to see Zink get a chance. He's been doddling around in the minors for a while now and to see him finally get his shot would be awesome.

In entertainment news, I hear that Isaac Hayes has died. That's a bummer. The theme from Shaft is one of the most badassed tunes out there and he was great as Chef. So that sucks pretty hard. I think Samuel L. Jackson should watch out though I'm keeping tabs on the Olympics a bit. Nothing really groundbreaking going on here. Well that's all for now.

red sox, ehhh, rip, mehh it happens, linkage, newsage, boredom, postgame wrapup, real life ish, tra la laaa, losing still sucks, random, baseball
