What's up all? Not much here. I'm just doing a little bit of posting before I take off for work. I'm working 12-4 and thought it'd be good to do my entry up beforehand. So anyways, the national media is amusing me right now. Why? Because they're all but officially crowning the Yankees the AL East winners. It's amusing, I'm not even insulted. Haven't we learned something after all these years? YOU NEVER FUCKING ASSUME A GODDAMNED THING!! I mean yes we know the Red Sox' magic number is in single digits, but I'm not tempting with the gods of fate right now because they seem pretty pissed off at Red Sox fans. Sure I'd like a Yankee free playoff, but I'd rather at first you know, have the RED SOX in the damn playoffs. That's the most important thing. Also, congrats are out for Announcer Boy(aka Don Orsillo) who is
one of the guys whose been tabbed to call one of the ALDS series' on TBS. Which one? Don't know. But that's a pretty damn good gig.
So anyways tonight's game will be a toughie. Jon Lester is going up against AJ Burnett, who has been surprisingly good lately. Lester has been alright. He had two excellent starts vs the O's and one sucky inning vs Tampa Bay before settling down somewhat for a couple innings. Burnett has been good so this should be an interesting battle tonight. The Red Sox could REALLY use a win tonight because you know, it's all about winning series'. So win tonight and get one step closer to the holy grail of the playoffs. Nothing has been won yet, people, so let's not get all lazy assed. Besides those footsteps are getting pretty closer and we want to slam the fucking door. Winning one vs the Yankees was huge. The offense could really use a good day as well. Last night was pretty sucky and Sunday night they were stymied by Clemens and made a nice comeback attempt that fell short. Let's not be falling short anymore and win some shit because I'm not expecting much from the O's and I don't want this lead to get to 2.5 because THEN everybody will start freaking the fuck out. I don't want that. So win, goddammit.
