Keith Foulke Retires
I can't say that I really expected that to happen. That's quite a shock. But you know what? He has acheived all that he's wanted to, so that's fine by me. He earned a WS ring, and honestly, without him it wouldn't have been. And anybody who says that he didn't play a big role in the playoff run(like my dad says) is a fucking idiot who has an anti-Foulke agenda unlike any other. The guy gave his fucking career for the team, as we saw during the 05-06 season when he was a shell of who he used to be. Yes, he is a whore. Yes, he isn't the most pleasant human being around. But you know what? That's fine by me. he sacked up and he showed up when the team needed him the most, and without him or Papi, we'd be grumbling about 89 years right now. Foulke is 1 of 25 and if he ever decides to go to Fenway again to visit, he better get himself a standing O because I will disown Red Sox Nation(not the team, just the fans) if he is booed.
And to all those who still don't like him. Separate the douchey personality from the player who gave his career for the good of the team. THEN talk to me.
So that makes 5 I believe....Curtis Leskanic(04), Pokey Reese(05), Bill Mueller(06), Gabe Kapler(06), and Keith Foulke(06). Next year will likely be Timlin's last season and I can see Millar fading away too.
