i almost can't believe this, except that there's so many pictures. have any of you driven past it? are they going to have to dull the metal and grind down portions so that the reflections off of it don't disturb the neighbors, just like the real Disney hall

Not too long ago Punky and I were driving around LA and I started laughing hysterically at a sign. I couldn't explain it to her and we were too busy to go around the block so she could see it again.

Please, when I come visit, will someone (punky_bayouster?!) see the new Magritte exhibit with me? "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" is one of the few things I've ever liked enough to seriously consider getting a tattoo of it, so I'm going to start plotting now to see this exhibit before it ends.

Urban Outfitters has Bohemian Modern on sale if you buy it online. I picked it up as a memento before I left, and it's a pretty good coffeetable book about architecture in Silver Lake. The content and design give a good feel for a certain slice of culture there as well - although the author seems to adore at least one gut wrenchingly bourgie ( Read more... )
