Fuck you, mood, I just ran 100 minutes.
Explored a new part of the flood canal. Didn't set out with the intention to. Figured I'd just go for a run instead of the gym, since my brain protesteth so much. Didn't figure it'd be a long run, but I just felt like not stopping, and so, after my usual round of the zoo park I went under the bridge to the forestry university. But when after my usual round there (which at my usual pace gives me a 40-49min run), I still didn't feel like stopping? Well, fukkit, why not?
So I continued under the highway to a park area on the other side, and down along by the sunflowers. The sunflowers actually being a large area of clear land inside the city, surrounded on the one side by construction and on the other by some migrant-worker homes - old factory/processing areas converted into living spaces, complete with chickens and dogs. The area of clear land is all planted out in crops, and I don't know about you, but I really, really like the sight of growing food-gardens. Some people were working in their gardens and some jsut walking dogs or biking; the sunflowers are heavy and looking down, but still yellow round the edges; the soybeans are flourishing and look to be extremely happy with whatever's in the ground here. I saw hundreds of birds and thousands of dragonflies. There was a bean plant with the brightest-colored flowers - most bean-flowers are white, or purple, or maybe a little yellowish, but these ones were red-orange.
I ran out all the way to the highway that goes through/to the botanical garden, where the new buildings grow. I turned around there, but I think next time I go running I'mna go longer - skip the loops in the other two parks and do a straight run on out, and straight back. If I should get tired I know the bus-routes in that area, and I always bring a few kuai with me. But I don't think I would get tired - I'm tired a bit now, sure, but only in a normal sort of way. I was running at what my dad calls "an animated shuffle", so aside from my knees being a bit irritated with me, I feel quite good and like I'd like to do it again sometime soon.
A last :D : on my elevator down to the first floor I encountered a nosy Chinese neighbor who told me I should go running in the early morning because the air was fresher. On my elevator up after my run I encountered a nosy Russian sort-of-neighbor who told me I should run in the evening because it's better for my health. What I wanted to say to both of them: thank you for your unsolicited advice in how I should do my thing. I'd like to see you run a hundred minutes any time of the day. Then we'll talk.
