i am alive
contrary to popular belief (or just speculation from lack of LJ updates) i am actually alive. and doing quite well too!
where to begin? well lets see
so since i was last here i finished my third year of college. i am now a senior. a senior. sorry i just had to say it twice to let it sink in. its a weird feeling that i will be done this time next year. actually i graduate in one year and one day. but yeah so i finished my third year. made deans list again and i am very happy with my cumulative GPA. and this last year of school shouldnt be bad at all. it should actually be pretty easy. so that is definitely a good thing.
i have also now been working at celebrations for over a month now. i am really happy with that job. ive met a lot of awesome people and i just enjoy going to work now. definitely a good thing. i actually got to train someone to work there last week too! i guess i must be doing a good job if theyre having me train people. he actually turned out to be really cool and has been in the business before so he knows what hes doin. made my job easier. so theres that.
i also did end up getting that job at the RCC for the summer! so starting july 2nd ill be a classroom assistant. i have had 2 orientation sessions already. im pretty excited for that to start. it will be good times.
other than that its just been a lot of the same old stuff. im here in philly all summer long, so if youre around and want to hang out gimme a call! ill either be working or doing nothing.
now i wanna talk about the past week really quickly because it was one of the craziest ever.
so i worked a prom wednesday, another prom thursday where i trained dan, a wedding outside under the pavilion on friday so i had to keep trekking back and forth from the pavilion to the building all night long, a double on saturday including a first holy communion party and a wedding, and then a cocktail party sunday. so i had a lot of work during the week. but it only starts there.
since i worked the outside wedding on friday i got out wicked early. so me dube and lola came back to temple and got changed and stuff and we called jackie and ended up meeting joanna in old city for some drinks. we had such a good time! went to the plough and the stars first and then over to lucy's. when we were leaving lucys we were looking for a cab. well me and lola were standing outside and dube and jackie come up behind her and hug her and all four of us end up falling over into a pile of garbage bags! were just sitting on the ground laughing our asses off and all these people are around and theyre not laughing, theyre all "oh my god are you ok can we help you up!?" it was hysterical. and then jackie and lola were standing in the middle of the street to get a cab and jackie goes to take a step and was about a foot away from being hit by a SEPTA bus. it was scary shit because the guy had to slam on his brakes to not hit her. it was really really bad. and she wasnt even phased by it at all. whatever. so we went back to dubes and crashed there for the night.
then saturday night wedding was really boring because it was tiny. but there was another wedding in the other room at work which was ridiculous and they drank so much. so me and guiseppe had to help out with the bar a lot getting them beer and taking out their trash and stuff. well the bartenders must have done well since they gave us $55 for helping! that money was spent at bradys that night. speaking of, we went next door to bradys around 1230. it was me, dube, dan, brandon, guiseppe, lola, kristin, dina, and i think thats it. the celebrations crew invaded and it was awesome. we shot a bunch of pool and played some photo hunt. then we left at 2 and ended up standing outside of the bar just talking for like another hour and a half. it was so much fun. i really love the people i work with. sunday night was probably the craziest of all though.
sunday night was a cocktail party for one of the owners wife. and apparently joe and marie are part of a very powerful family in italy. so this party was actually a ceremony for marie being KNIGHTED! they sent a representative from the pope, and she got knighted right there in front of us. shes only the third woman to have this done apparently too. how fuckin crazy is that!? well the party was going pretty well until it started pouring. oh yeah the party was outside under the pavilion of course. but walking back and forth from the pavilion was not covered at all. so by the end of work i was drenched and it was pretty bad. but for all of our hard work they tipped each server $50. so i wasnt complaining! went to the bar with dan for a little bit after work while i waited for dube and lola to get out. i ended up giving them and also regina and anthony rides home from work. so it was a full car!
and now i think thats all. that should keep all of you busy for awhile. so until i update again (in probably like a month or something) peace out.
