classes cancelled!?
so apparently liacouras walk must be a river or something because temple has cancelled all classes until 10:40 because of inclement weather. i have not seen this happen ever in my 3 years here. i've only seen night classes get cancelled. well i am happy i found out when i did. i had already showered and gotten dressed and everything and i had just opened the door to the hallway when alison came out of her bedroom and told me. how's that for luck?
so i guess ill take this unexpected few hours of free time to update this. i actually have a lot going on in my life right now.
i started my new job last week, and its fuckin awesome. i'm working at celebrations in bensalem, which is a banquet hall type place, kinda like apple tree. it's all classy and stuff. and it's a lot of fun! wednesday was our orientation and that was supposed to take an hour, maybe an hour and a half. well we were there for two and a half and didn't even finish everything. how crazy is that? and then since i didn't end up going to ithaca because of the weather, i called my boss and asked if i could start work this weekend. so i got some hours on saturday night. and it was just like old times because i got to work with dube! so i am looking forward to this job a lot.
i don't know if i mentioned it but i am playing on an intramural indoor soccer team right now. it's just a bunch of people from my spanish class. we're all just there to have fun, and we suck pretty bad, but we do have a good time. well the regular season was 4 games long and we tied 1-1, lost 7-1 (and let me just mention that with 2 seconds left in that game i scored the only goal for our team :-D ), forfeited (because only me and 2 other people showed up for the game), and then got forfeited to. now we had playoffs start last week on wednesday and we ended up winning 1-0! so that means we have another game tonight at 6:45 as long as it doesn't get cancelled because of the weather.
classes are starting to wind down and that's a great thing! only 11 more days of class including today, which really is over. i am so excited for summer. for many many reasons. i only have 2 finals during finals week, one tuesday at 8:30 and one wednesday at 8:30. not too bad. but i cannot wait til may 9th, well may 1st in particular is probably gonna be pretty good.
right now i'm actually very happy with a lot of things. there's someone in my life kinda right now. but we won't know for sure until summer. so until then it's just keeping my fingers crossed.
i applied for another job last week too. this one is at the RCC (russell conwell center) as a classroom assistant for some math classes during the summer. it would be from july 2nd - august 10th. and it's mon-fri 8:30-3:30. the pay is $10/hr. and it seems pretty awesome. heather did it last summer and she said it was amazing and i would probably like it. so we will see what happens and if i get the job. it's looking pretty good right now, but i won't know for sure until wednesday. so wish me luck :-)
