should have updated earlier this week, but everything moves pretty fast during preseason, so I'll do my best to recap the last two weeks since I left Maine and returned to East Lansing.

-Driving across the country. It does better when it's grouped into three legs rather than two. At least then I get to visit family in New Hampshire, and those guys are a lot of fun to hang around, even if only for one night. I need to remember to pull over for a hotel earlier, though, since I got stuck with a rather pricey affair in Buffalo. And, as usual, the customs line is a bit of a haul to sit through, but I made it here with no major problems, and that is always a reason to be grateful.

-Everyone here still likes me! I always worry about being displaced when I move back and forth between Maine and Michigan, and thankfully it's not yet happened (yes, it's a little neurotic). There was a bit of catching up to do with some folks (and, in fact, there's still some), but it's always a relief to know that I can pick up where I left off.

-My new room, same as the old room. Got it set up in the way that my old roommate figured out, and it's clean. Keeping it that way is one of my primary goals for the year. Too many of my friends assume that being a slob comes naturally to me, and that's only partially true in my mind.

-Preseason. Announcement: I am awkward meeting new people. I'm working on it slowly but surely. Mostly I'm scared of first impressions, but not making one is just as big of a statement about my personality. I've been lucky most of these years to meet people who are willing to take the first step in meeting me. I have to figure out why that's so difficult for me.

-Classes start tomorrow. 8am every day. Yeehaw. I feel fairly ready to get back into it. Let's go.
