Sight-Reading / P&L Tour / Cleans Room

I haven't been really active through public entries lately, not because I'm busy, and certainly not because I'm not writing any entries. Let's change that mojo, at least for now.

Yesterday was the start of the last week of sight-reading classes I'll be attending this summer. (And evidently, tomorrow is the last day I'll be going to these classes this summer.) These classes are mainly the reason the month of June is awesome during the summertime. The best part about them is that since we're sight-reading all the pieces (about fifteen each class--jazz and concert band), there's no need to bring music or to practice. Also, not only am I at LMC during these classes which has an amazing music program, but practicing sight-reading is exactly what I need to work on, for piano and percussion instruments (like mallets, drums, and timpani).

The classes also run through next week as well, but I'm going to be on my Power & Light West Coast Tour. I really think this year's is going to be amazing. I am so much more comfortable and confident with myself than I was last year, I have a much better camera to savor the memories (I'm estimating a good two-thousand pictures will be taken), and won't have to deal with the worry of a cell phone, since I'm not bringing mine.

I've been hard at work on my room's Summer Cleaning/Rearrangement plans. I've spent hours each of these past couple days organizing, categorizing, figuring out where to put things, and just preparing to make my room a comfortable oasis for me primarily, but also company and for my family. I want a room that I can be proud of, and with several hours of hard work and intuitive planning, I can achieve that. And I will; hopefully it'll all be completed in early-July, before I leave for piano camp. I've got a pretty dead-set idea all done out on paper and in my head, so I'll be fine. It's putting those plans to action that's the challenge!
